How Flower Essences May Support You
Sometimes it helps to have a quiet place where you can hear yourself a little more clearly. You may be carrying a worry, adjusting to a change or simply wishing to give your emotional wellbeing some attention. You are welcome to begin with whatever feels present for you.
In a Flower Essence Consultation, we bring conversation, reflection and the qualities associated with flowers together. I listen to your experience and help you choose a personal blend around the themes you would like to explore. You do not need to know the flowers or have used essences before.

Exploring flower essences in a consultation
You may value being listened to, finding words for a feeling or making time for a daily ritual. These are aspects of our work together, separate from any claimed effect of the essences themselves.
Space to feel heard
An unhurried conversation in which your feelings can be acknowledged, without needing to have everything worked out.
Words for what matters
An opportunity to name an emotional theme and consider qualities you would like to nurture, such as courage, patience or self-kindness.
A personal connection with nature
The flowers and their traditional associations can offer a meaningful focus for reflection and a gentle way to bring nature into your day.
A simple daily moment for yourself
Using your chosen blend can become a reminder to pause, return to your intention and notice how life is feeling.
What would you like to bring?
Perhaps one of these themes feels familiar. They are invitations for conversation, rather than conditions that flower essences are proven to treat.
When you feel stretched or overwhelmed
Perhaps you have been attending to everyone else and have had little time to notice your own needs. We can slow down, look at what is asking most of you and explore what a more manageable balance could mean.
Change and new beginnings
A new role, a move or a change in a relationship may bring uncertainty alongside possibility. We can give space to both, and consider which qualities you would like to carry with you as you find your way.
Confidence and a kinder view of yourself
If self-doubt or demanding expectations feel familiar, we can reflect on how you speak to yourself. Your blend may be chosen around an intention such as trusting your judgement or meeting yourself with greater understanding.
Boundaries and relationships
You might find it difficult to say no, express a need or make room for yourself. We can explore these experiences gently and consider what clearer, more comfortable boundaries would look like in your everyday life.
Sadness, loss and tender times
Some experiences need acknowledgement before anything else. I offer a thoughtful space to talk about what you are carrying, at your pace. There is no timetable for grief and no expectation that difficult feelings should quickly disappear.
Patterns you would like to understand
You may notice a familiar response returning in different situations, or feel unsure about what you need next. We can look at what you recognise, what matters to you now and a small intention you would like to explore.
Choosing your blend together
Flower essences are diluted, water-based preparations traditionally associated with emotional qualities. They differ from essential oils and medicinal herbal extracts. In essence traditions, flowers are often described in energetic or vibrational terms; this is a way of understanding the practice, rather than a scientifically established mechanism.
My approach brings together your words, reflection and Kinesiology. I may use gentle muscle testing as part of the selection process, while keeping your own experience central. A muscle response does not diagnose an emotional or physical condition or establish which essence will be effective.
I explain the proposed choices, and we prepare a blend of one essence or a combination of up to seven. One bottle is included in your consultation, with guidance on using and storing it. We check the ingredients together, including alcohol where it is used as a preservative.
The flowers behind the themes
A few examples can make the language of essences more familiar. In the Bach tradition, Centaury is associated with the balance between helping others and honouring your own needs. In the Australian Bush tradition, Bottlebrush relates to moving through life changes, while Five Corners is associated with self-acceptance.
These associations are starting points for reflection, not labels for who you are or predictions of an essence’s effect. We choose the themes that feel meaningful to you.
Carrying your intention into everyday life
Using your blend can be a moment to ask yourself: what do I need today, or how would I like to meet this situation? A few brief notes may help you notice what changes and what stays the same.
At a follow-up, we revisit your theme and whether the blend still feels relevant. You do not need to look for a special experience or treat every feeling as a sign that an essence is working.
A thoughtful place alongside other support
Flower essence work is part of my complementary wellbeing practice. Reliable clinical evidence has not established benefits beyond placebo for Bach flower remedies. Essences are not a treatment for medical or mental health conditions and do not replace appropriate healthcare or counselling.
Please tell me if you need to avoid alcohol or have concerns about ingredients. Where a medicine or health condition is involved, your pharmacist or healthcare professional can advise on suitability. We can discuss these practical questions before you choose to use a blend.
