Kinesiology & Emotions & Metaphysical Kinesiology for dogs, horses and cows

A calm, personal approach to animal wellbeing, with space for the animal and the person who cares for them. I offer Kinesiology and Emotions & Metaphysical Kinesiology balancing sessions in person and remotely, shaped around your animal and what you have noticed.

What is Animal Balancing, and how do I work?

Animal Balancing brings the principles of Emotions & Metaphysical Kinesiology (EMK) into work with animals. I draw on the Animal Kingdom Kinesiology approach developed by Denise Robinson, exploring emotional and energetic themes alongside the animal’s everyday life. My intention is to offer a quiet, attentive space for you to consider your animal’s wellbeing and your relationship with them.

An animal’s surroundings, routines and relationships are an important part of the picture. A move, a change in companionship or an unfamiliar situation may be part of what you bring to a session. We stay curious about what you have noticed, without assuming that every behaviour has the same meaning or that you are responsible for your animal’s difficulties.

How muscle testing is used

In animal Kinesiology, muscle testing can be carried out on a person acting as a surrogate for the animal, or through practitioner self-testing. The person’s muscle response is interpreted within the method as relating to the animal. This means the animal does not need to hold a muscle against pressure as a person would in a Kinesiology session.

I use these responses within the Emotions & Metaphysical Kinesiology framework to explore themes of stress and possible balancing techniques. They are interpretations within an energetic practice, rather than direct measurements of the animal’s health or a way to know their thoughts.

A gentle approach to balancing

Emotions & Metaphysical Kinesiology draws on the Five Elements and meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, together with chakra and aura traditions. These provide an energetic framework for the work. Balancing may involve gentle contact or movements of the hands near the body, always with attention to the animal’s comfort.

Your observations help keep our conversation grounded in everyday life. We may reflect on space to rest, opportunities for play or movement, companionship and familiar routines. The bond you share with your animal has a place here too.

A session shaped around your animal

We begin by talking about your animal’s history, daily routine and any recent changes. Please share relevant veterinary advice, current medicines and the questions you would like to explore. Together, we agree on a focus for the session.

I explain the balancing process as we go, and you are welcome to ask questions throughout. When your animal is present, I pay attention to their body language and willingness to engage. We allow time to settle and pause or adapt the work if they seem uncomfortable.

Before we finish, we reflect on the session and what you might observe at home. We decide the number and spacing of sessions individually for your animal. A follow-up gives us time to hear how things have been and consider whether further sessions would be helpful.

In person or remotely

  • With your animal: we agree on a suitable setting and practical arrangements beforehand. A home, stable or farm visit may be possible if you arrange both collecting me and taking me home afterwards, as I cannot drive myself at present. We agree on any additional costs before booking.
  • At the clinic without your animal: you can come as the owner or carer. If possible, bring a familiar item belonging to your animal, such as a blanket, collar or halter. This is part of the surrogate approach, not a diagnostic sample.
  • Online with your animal: you join me by Zoom in a safe, familiar setting. We discuss preparation and handling arrangements beforehand; your animal does not have to stay still for the camera.

If you are unsure where to begin, you are welcome to contact me. We can talk about your animal and whether this approach feels suitable.

Supporting you and your animal

The connection you share with your animal is part of everyday life. Explore how thoughtful observation, a deeper understanding of their needs and space for your own questions can support that relationship, alongside appropriate veterinary care.

Alongside veterinary care

Your animal’s welfare comes first. Animal Balancing is a complementary approach, and its energetic and surrogate-testing methods are not established ways to diagnose illness or determine what treatment an animal needs. Benefits from these methods have not been reliably demonstrated. New or unexplained symptoms and changes in behaviour need veterinary assessment before booking.

If your animal is unwell, injured, in pain or showing a sudden change in behaviour, please seek veterinary advice promptly. Any changes to medicines, diet or supplements should be discussed with your vet. Our sessions sit alongside that care, without replacing or delaying it.
